Hi
Kontakt player shows error message when loading multi to say it's running low on memory and won't play properly (I've got about 5 gb free on hard drive and 1gb RAM, samples on separate hard drive) sure enough it struggles to play anything. I'm thinking this is a DFD problem, when I go to turn on the DFD in the Kontakt player there's no such botton in the 'Options' and the DFD button next to the Options button is not functional or illuminated. When I try to install the latest DFD update from the support page it says I don't have enough privileges to install it and doesn't give me the option to put in a password or anything.

any ideas

Try repairing your permissions. Stick the OS X install disc in your computer, and restart holding the C key down.

Do NOT actually reinstall OS X.... go to the utilities menu up top and run disk utility, then repair permissions on your system hard drive.

After that, try installing the DFD extension again.

Thanks for reply Sam. I tried what you said and I still get the same error message which reads:
ERROR CREATING FILE
1008:5,-5000 ACCESS DENIED ERROR
followed by
You do not have enough access privileges for this installation.

Any ideas? Have you seen this before?

It means that your permissions are really having some trouble.

Try checking the permissions of the CFMSupport forlder inside your Library folder, and make sure you can read and write. If that still doesn't help, contact techsupport@eastwestsounds.com for help with a manual installation.
