hi.

i own quite a few sample libraries (ewql, garritan, vienna, and more).

i wrote an awesome track with ewql gold xp and it sounded nice, but then i wanted to add a layer of garritan's stradivari solo violin.

the stradivari violin sounds brilliant, but it doesn't fit in with the pieace because of the sample recordings.

the ewql gold are all recorded in a hall from far mics where garritan's are pretty much close mics with minimul reverb.

what are peoples suggestions to make this violin sound like it is part of the ewql orchestra. i'm guessing it's just a matter of convolution reverb to it but none of them are giving the same sort of effect.

yeah, find an appropriate reverb that you have, and tweak with size, space and such to get so it sounds as if its in teh same hall or room..

Hi Graham! I have used Garritan Stadivari violin mixed together with EW strings, itīs a nice sound it just adds that sweet vibrato to the whole string sound. Try reducing the Strad in the mix, I add just enough for the vibrato to take effect and give them extra reverb, the secret is not too much Strad ! That has worked for me. Chris :D
