Hello,

I've just bought SC.
I'm a Finale 2006 user.

I'd like to know how I can save my choir score as audio file ?
I can do it easily with Finale and music instruments, but with SC ?

Thanks.

Francois.

Hi Francois, and welcome as a new member, do you have some kind of sequencing software? In Cubase you can save your work as a Wave file or an MP3 quite easily, I also use Finale 2006 but have never saved an audio file from that programme, perhaps you can tell me how that works I´d be interested to know. Thanks Chris :)

Hello Chris,

Thanks. :)

I need your help.
I have Cubasis VST.
With Finale, I can create a midi file.
How can I make an mp3 or wave file with Cubasis, using SC and Wordbuilder ?
I can hear but am enable to record it.

Thanks for your help.

François

Hi francois,

and welcome from also me!

Now in order to record your tracks:

i. Write the music (and copy it in Finale, if you write your music in manuscript first)
ii. Save the file as a midi file, making sure that all different instruments are saved in different midi channels.
iii. Open Cubase. Go to File->Import Midi file.
iv. Press F11, or go to Devices->VST Instruments. In the menu, choose Symphonic Choirs
v. Load on the multi the voices you need
vi. Go to the track which corresponds to the voice you want to record and click on the insert on the left hand side. Choose Wordbuilder. The WB should open.
vii. Write the words and anyway make the track sound exactly as you want it to sound. Fix the words, the notes, the velocities, maybe reverb, mixing and everything else.
viii. Go to File->Export Audio as... Click on it and get the export menu to open.
ix. choose the kind of file you want to save it as (AIF, WAV, MP3, OGG, etc...), if the stereo file is interleaved (which should be almost always unless you want left adn right in different files), the quality (Khz, and bit rate), if you are doing the master, also check the box next to the "real-time export" just to be safe and choose the name under which the file will be saved as.
x. Post here :D :D :D

Now, I hope that this is what you want. It's more or less instructions for people who don't know a lot about Cubase, as I have no idea how much you know about Cubase. I'm not sarcastic, or want to sound clever or anything. Just wrote it as much in detail as I thought it necessary. If it is something esle that you want, then let us know and surely someone (if not me) will help you out :)

Haha...

It's nikolas, with a k

I use Cubase not Cubasis (though they sound almost the same... not sure though).

The versions in the process I've posted before make no difference actually.

I've used Cubase SX1, SX2 and now SL3 and all of them are the same

:)

I guess Nikolas with a "K" said it all for me. Chris (with a "C") :D
