Does anyone know of any good orchestral classes for orchestral composition in a DAW using sample libraries like EASTWEST Symphonic Orchestra?

First off I have I have EASTWEST Symphonic Orchestra, I bought it around a year or so ago.. Right now, I want to learn the in's and out's of orchestral music production. I know it takes lots and lots of study and research to really learn all there is, and right now my background is basically that I played trumpet all through high school, and I played a lot of guitar since I graduated school. I know quite a bit about music theory and terminology, although definitely not all there is to know. I studied the manuals of EWQLSO and the PLAY Engine, and know pretty much the basics of how to utilize their futures. Can someone point me in the right direction with maybe an online course for composition though? I rather take an online course (preferably free) than read a book by the way...

I checked out a few of the links already. I am just wondering if anyone knows of any good classes online that are free. I took a music class with Berklee Online called "Introduction to Music Production" taught by Loudon Stearns, it was a great tool for me...

Im currently writing a mail to you. I know a couple very good vids. Theyre not "classes" per se, but very helpful, IMO.
Edit: Mail sent.

Nice, thanks so much Lorenz! I'll definitely check them out, I will probably have quite a few more questions in the following couple weeks or so..

As an added bonus, Mike Verta gets off topic a lot, which actually is quite entertaining! That aside, the videos are excellent with a ton of info in there! I highly recommend them! Informative and entertaining:-)

Are the Verta videos really good? I got the impression they were videos of a blabbering drunktard who worships John Williams and has separation anxiety from star wars paraphernalia. Every time I see one of his preview videos he is drinking a cocktail and getting hammered in front of a storm trooper costume, sometimes talking with his wife on the side, like he has nothing better to do on a Friday night -- like an excuse to make money and drink socially online.

Please advise

I advise you that you are obviously joking. Because the only way anybody would make such asinine statements is if they were in fact joking. So, very funny! :D

Cheers.

Yes, there is a bit of that! But there is also quite a few GREAT pieces of advice in there as well! Mike will sit a talk for over three hours on some of these videos! Again...entertaining and informative all at the same time!

If you are not joking then I would advise you to watch some of the videos he has done. I've been online for one of the masterclasses he has done and it was fantastic. Well worth the $$ spent. I also had a quick flick through some of the ones on youtube and the guy's knowledge is incredibly in-depth and he says what he thinks. Well worth listening to.

Yes that was obviously a joke however when I just read it back I could see that it might not come across as one and I think its too late for me to edit it.

Mike Verta's tutorials are really good and I just assumed everyone here knew that. But they are more enjoyable if you are having a cocktail with him
