I was wondering, do you guys typically load up all for individual sections when using a full choir or do you load up the full men's and women's choir multis (assuming you have kontakt)? I realized that today that loading up say a full women's choir would give me the same range as the individual sopranos and altos sections, but could save some me some ram. Are there any other benefits or disadvantages to this?

And also, since the range restricted sections prevent overlap, are the samples in that over lap in the individual sections different? Such as, a note that is in both the tenor and bass range, is that a different sample for each section or does each section share the same recording?

Just curious.

I write for choirs using primarily the OH/OO/AH sustains which are not memory-eating . Then i load each choirs multi ( soprano, boys, basses..) combined with worldbuilder, and i bounce to audio one by one...
It's a little long, but finally it's a good solution to figure out first the melodies the choirs will play, which's the most important thing. And then the second step , putting the words.

Actually, I feel slightly stupid for never thinking of doing that. Especially seeing as how I almost always just put "aH" in the word builder for each section when I'm doing the majority of my composing.

Anybody know the answer to my second question perhaps?

I'm not absolutely positive, but I don't think they share the same sample.

Altos are altos, sopranos are sopranos.
