I like the production very much. It needs a bit more variety for a song, unless it's for a trailer or a sitcom. Excellent job.
Did you enhance the guitar sound digitally or is that just the POD i hear? Sounds very nice.

Great job!

Sounds great! It's also nice to occasionally hear something other than a film cue on here too. ;)

Given the style, I'd say that the synth is up a bit louder than it needs to be and the guitar is a bit back in the mix, but that's a small point.

Thx guys! :)

Guitars are all podxt whit just a little post eq.

I didnt put any melodic line because im planning of putting some vocals in the near future and also i coulnt mix whit my monitors so i agree the mix needs a little tweaking.

It's nice to hear something that is outside of the "movie" realm on this site. Nice tune! Will you be voclaizing it soon?

I'm basically new here, so you'll have to bear with me. I loved the track!! I think the synths (of course I'm biased since I'm a keyboard player) were fine in the mix. I'd love to hear the final version with vocals.

Nice job, really nice

Just upload a new version :)

Did some minor tweaks on the levels and some eqing on the bass... the mix seems to be pretty good now.

Edit: The distortion is on Line 6 PODxt too?

Seb

Its the same link..
yep distortion come from the pod..the pod really work like a real guitar amp minus the need to mic it...a real time saver to get great sounding guitars.

Another thumbs up from an ex-guitar cruncher. Makes me wanna look into this Pod thingie of which you speak and dust off some off the old axes. Midi is soooo much easier tho :-)

Question about the pod... is the signal hot enough to go directly into an input on a comp or is a preamp necessary? Have a soundcard but don't use it as it causes too much headache. So I am left with my 1/8th inch jack :-)

again, nice piece.

Dont need a preamp and the cool thing is the podxt can be use like a preamp also for bass, vocal, synth etc... but you will need a 1/4 1/8 adapter if your card only support 1/8.

Frkn, sweet man. I used to play in band with this kinda style to some degree, and this song has a way of bringing back to the old days. I may just have to go out and buy me a pod and a new Axe, Keepem coming, Good stuff.

Hi Seb!

Great job. No doubt, that's heavy. As you already know, the mix can and will be enhanced I am sure. Sounds a bit fuzzy at times, but I know the mix is not finished.

Yeah that POD is a great stuff. A friend of mine is just addicted, and I am thinking getting one myself :D

One question: How did you make this pan effect with the percs at the beginning (btw 0:05 and 0:15)? Is it a special effect, like a phaser, or did you just do some automation on the pan?

Very good stuff, thx for posting!!!

Seb

The pan effect is just a loop in stylus rmx whit some delay. :)

Love the piece! POD makes good stuff. Don't have one, but everything that I have heard come out of that unit sounds great! POD makes the Live XT floorboard...that's the one I am looking at for myself. Line outs, plus I would be able to use my CRATE cab.

GOOD STUFF SEB!

Hi, I like your stuff. I'm a guitarist too and I like the sound of your guitar with your POD.

But I don't know POD and I might be interested by buying one If we can record with such quality. Can you post some samples that you did with it ? I would like to know the others capacities of it, played by a real person, a customer, not with a commercial presentation score...

Thanks

Thx a lot for the nice words guys :)

Tchoyy i only did another song whit the use of my podxt, theres not much guitar in it a little ebow and some clean whit a delay. www.mediasonik.com/mp3/Mortalis.mp3

Simo for the drum i used the same eq and compression setting that was used on toontrack demos.(its in a folder on the dkh cd)

Another thing,

On your first demo, I think the bass is too high.

Waywyn
06-13-2005, 01:56 PM
gratz, really cool stuff and actually the best demo so far with the pod.

i heard a lot of music with the pod and most people use it that it sounds like crap, but this one rocks :)

could be some more exchange on instruments towards the end, but still working.

Seb

Thx Waywyn!

And Tchoyy you right the bass is a little too high :)

Sounds great.

I can also vouch for Line 6 gear. We have a POD XT Live and Acoustic Variax in the studio and they are both simply amazing. The distortion we get from the POD is almost (perhaps better) than what we get from our mic'd $3,000 Mesa Boogie Road King. Brings tears of joy and sadness at the same time.

Seb

hehe agree i got a 94 Boogie dual rectifier and im really thinking of selling it and getting a line6 vetta2 amp, that Two Amps at Once technology is really tempting.

that Two Amps at Once technology is really tempting.
Go on; give your guitar a three-way. :p (You don't want to know what kind of sin my studio lives in. ;) )

The Vetta is a very nice device. (As is the POD.) I've been using one for a couple years now. For anyone who wants to hear samples of the Vetta/POD, I would suggest you check out the ION forum (http://www.instituteofnoise.com/forum) . It's probably the most active Line 6 user community, and clips are frequently posted there.

(This is actually an attempt to avoid hijacking this thread by redirecting traffic. :) )
