In the comparison chart it says that the only bundle that is 24 bit and has 3 mic positions is platinum but the description for the Gold Upgrade Bundle describes it as being 24 bit and having all three mic positions. If you have Silver Edition and get the Gold Upgrade Bundle is that the same as the Platinum? Thanks, -steve

Only the Platinum edition (both the standard version and the XP Pro) is 24-bit with 3 mic positions. Gold and Gold XP are 16-bit, Full ("stage") mic position, though some of the instruments also include Surround ("hall") mic'ing (but note: it's a very limited some, as in, say, 1 in every 40 articulations has both mics).

But keep in mind that, although Gold XP only has one mic position and is 16-bit, it has every articulation that Platinum XP has.

It's a mistake - it's Platinum Bundle description.

Well, if you want to be technical about it, it's not a mistake at all. The description on there is for the Symphonic Orchestra. Platinum and Platinum XP are the orchestra in its entirety. The Gold and Silver editions are merely slimmed-down versions of the full product. So, in all reasoning, the description is right, just not entirely accurate concerning the smaller versions. Beside, the description does indeed state that it's for the EASTWEST/QUANTUM LEAP SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA PLATINUM BUNDLE.

To clarify, Gold is 16-bit, Full mic position, with a few extras.

It's still seems a simple mistake for me :)

Check for yourself - this one is Gold Bundle (no upgrade) (http://www.soundsonline.com/EWQLSO-Gold-Bundle-pr-EW-160PROB1.html) and it's fine.

And you are right, there are few extra close and hall (surround) mic patches included in Gold.
