Hello,

Im new with EWSOL and I truly love it. I have bought some libraries and working with them is a joy. However, my technical abilities are rather dreadful so I get stuck with simple things.
For example, I still dont understand how to make, say, a violin sound with different articulations within the same phrase. I load the various articulations but how can you make a note within the MIDI editor in Cubase sound "pizzicato" after a legato section? If you use DFX samples then you simply draw a keyswitch with the pencil, ok, but what to do if the articulation is a separately loaded one? Do you have to copy the track and make it sound with the wanted articulation? Any quicker way?

Many thanks and again apologies for the handicap question level! :o

Look in your manual under keyswitches.

Load a KS - Keyswitch patch, and play the note that switches the articulation.

There are long and short KS. so you will need to have them on different midi channels.

Actually, what LEX says about long and short keyswitch patches only applies if you have the Pro XP version (as well as the original version).

Assuming you have the new version of the manual (index ending on page 213, if I remember correctly), the manual should explain all you need. If you have to older version of the printed manual (significantly shorter than 213 pages), then you can ask for the "Official Guide" which is a free PDF. If you need the PDF, send a Private Message (PM) to Stefan Podell, one of the moderators on this forum. You'll need to include your EWQLSO serial number in the message, so EastWest knows you're a legal licensee.
