woah, was that ALL him? One of his main drums sounds like it's synth drum he has playing for backup.

I'm trying to make out all the questions they ask and talk about and stuff... a little hard since thet speak so fast though :P At first they were just asking and shocked how they heck he could me making 3, 4 differnet sounds at one time, and one guys specificall asking about when he did 2 separate notes

Yes that's my question. If you listen with more attention, he played 3 and 4 sounds immedialy!

Yeah, if this is what Neil means, he's not playing the sounds at the same time, but really realyl fast in succesion... not that it's not unbelievable, it is!

In the Michael Jackson song, he is stoping the bass to play the high notes, and the hi hat to play the snare... But still it is unbelievable!

Hi Neil,

Great link!! Very entertaining, and also very impressive that one person can do all that..!

I think a couple times he's able to produce three sounds by using a combination of lips + back of tongue + humming through nose... He also seems to have some kind of circular breathing technique to let him do the beatbox + vocals at the same time...! Maybe also producing sounds when breathing in as well?

I can't even imagine how much time that guy spent perfecting this technique.

Cheers,

- Matt

Bobby McFerrin can do that better?
Last I heard from him he did some jazzy/bluesy stuff, but I've never heard him do fast drums mixed with basslines and melody at the same time. How many sounds can Bobby do at the same time? 7?

A guy I really like is Shlomo. He's worked with Bjork.

Kid Beyond is pretty cool as well, although he takes another approach and doesn't do the "4 sounds at the same time" trick but layers them live.
