Damper Pedal Issue

Hi everyone,

I am using Cubase 4 and are encountering the following problem:

I plugged in a sustain/damper pedal. It works perfectly fine with any VSTi except in RECORD MODE the pedal shows NO effect. I have absolutely no clue what's going on..
