What means nki? (in the silver pdf files)
And what is the difference between Pedal Legato and Master Keyswitches?
I can't hear or understand it, can anyone?

Hey Addy...
nki is the file extenson for the root sound files for the instruments. They don't work like individual patches or articulatons, so it's uliely you want or need to mess with them.
I'm assuming you're using Silver XP...
Master keyswitches have all the articulations for a given instrument loaded simultaneously, and you can access them from on the same midi channel by playing or sequencing the appropriate triggering note for each articulation.
Pedal Legato keyswitches allow you to use a midi sustain pedal with a keyboard to change articulations by sending a cc64 controller change message to your sequencer.
See the manual, pp. 33, 120-121, 137-154.
Keyswitches take up a lot more memory than the single articulations, so beware... I honeslty haven't used them yet. I sequence everything anyway (one day my midi controller will return to me, alas!), so they're not necessarily as useful.
Hello Jacob,
Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my questions so thoroughly.
Being in the midst of a filmproject and needing classical orchestral instruments because suddenly the producer changed his mind about the soundtrack, things got a little bit out of hand. I bought SE Symphonic already a while ago but had not installed it yet. Then, with the deadline already appearing on the horizon I tried to comprehend everything too fast because I didn't have time to experiment with it. That's why I posted these questions, looking for quick answers. But in the end I used my old method (different articulations on different tracks) because that worked, at that moment, the best for me and the project.
So anyhow, thank you for your hints,
Regards Addy Scheele, Netherlands
