I'm getting two 500GB drives in my new DAW. I was thinking it would be better if I would create 2 partitions on both drives , so I could organize my workspace a little bit better.

Or maybe I shouldn't create any partitions at all? :D Any suggestions?

Depends on what you are using it for.

Samples? No! Audio? No. Backup? That would be fine.

Not for backup ,just for samples and audio. My idea was to have 4 partitions ,use 2 for EWQL, 1 for windows +cubase and 1 for plug-ins and samples.

Maybe 4x 250GB.

The solution for organizing data is not !! partitioning your harddisk.

Its more a question : how do i make a logical directory structure.

For backup i should never use a partitioned harddisk.

Recommanded for backup is a harddisk which has no other daily work to do, except resting in a quiet place waiting for the time when it is serious needed.

One of the most important issues. Never use the disk with the operating system on it to store audio data or samples.

Also may people don't seem to know that you can make paging files not only for your OS disk but also for the other individual drives you placed in your system
