Hello guys
I have two questions
1. I am using Kompact as standalone in a slave compùter, but since I open 4 or more instances, every time I have to set the outputs of every instanc to the desired outputs of my soundard. Is there a way to somehow rememeber the selected output in every instance?
2. I see many of you use Kotakt 2 instead of Kompact. Did you have to buy Kontact 2 separately, and what are the advantages?
Thanks

I´m mainly using Kontakt 2 now, as you have access to 16 instruments per module. Furthermore Kontakt is, at least on my machine, way more power efficient and easier to load (when you´ve imported the samples). And then you are of course able to combine samples from different libraries.
the following 15 gb samples are pretty good.

Hey czepeda...
What tys said is basically what I do & have noticed as well...and YES you have to pay for it. You may be able to get a discount but last I checked it was going for around $400.00. That was a while ago though.
It;s been a while since I used Kompakt so I don't remember clearly enough...but there may be an option for you to save your mutli within Kompakt...allowing you to simply call up the saved file with all the samples and channels you have assigned.
If there is...I'm assuming that's what you're looking for. If there isn't...then know that KONTAKT 2 has this option! ;)

I was able to get it for 230$ in student discount. You could check it out

Because you have a Kompakt product you can crossgrade to Kontakt 2 (with more than the full 15GB lirbrary) for less money even than the academic version and you will be able to use it in commercial recordings. froogle.com for Kontakt 2 Crossgrade, make sure it is in stock (as NI is no longer producing the crossgrade, but existing copies are guaranteed to work), and order it. I just bought it for $199 to crossgrade from my Kompakt version of East West Colossus.

The cross-grade is the best way to go - paid $199 also. That's a good point about the academic version because it can't be used commercially.

Kontact 2 is just brilliant in all respects and certainly way more efficient in its use of your computers resources. It also comes with convolution reverbs, a great library and many other features I haven't even looked at.
