This is late news for some, but I had no idea till a few days ago.

Michael Brecker died in January of '07 of cancer. For those of you who don't know, he is/was possibly the best saxophonist since Coltrane. He pioneered using the EWI as a performance instrument, and wrote many killer fusion tunes. He's also been in the pop industry from time to time (you can see him play on SNL sometimes) I was fortunate to see him at the Reno Jazz Festival one year when I was there will my college jazz band.

God..he will be missed.

:(

I knew he was gravely ill. I didn't know that he'd passed on.

when I read this kind of news, that remind me what will be our lifes, a beginning , a life and the end of it .
I like the way he made jazz fusion music with the brecker brother band ,he was one of the best saxo player.

As a saxophonist myself I can assure you he was one of my real heroes, a great sound and an amazing technique, a real top musician a sad loss to the jazz scene. I had the good fortune to see the Brecker Brothers a number of times here in Europe, may god bless you Michael.

I had heard of his passing and was very sad to hear it. He was an inspiration early in my musical career and he was truly a master on the tenor sax. There aren't many like him around today.
