AKAI MPD24 for $200. I think this unit is far better than the MPD16 for $100, and much better than the POS that M-audio makes.
I've wanted the MPD24 for a while now, just haven't had the extra cash.

I was checking out this Roland HPD-15, but I am not sure if it is worth the money.

Does it take long to get good with these things ?
Im sick of sequencing with my keyboard is just to frustrating.

The hand sonic is great. I find myself at guitar center sometimes playing on it for quite a long time. If you are wanting just a midi controller though, I would recommend the MPD24, or something along the lines of that. If you are going to be controlling perc effects from libraries you own, I think it would be a waste to get the hand sonic for it comes with a lot of sounds on it, which is a reason why it's so expensive.
