UAD-1 Real Verb. But there are so many good reverbs on the market.

I have one of these:

I wanted a 91, but a bit too much dough. :(

I just now saw the Halls of Fame convolutions program. Does anyone have that yet? If so, waduyathink?

Altiverb - Can be heavy on processing though. Excellent Rooms.

Voxengo Pristine Space:
http://www.voxengo.com/product/pspace/
They have some and you can download free impluses all over the internet.

UAD-1 Plate 140 - Awesome reverb.

And:

Good verbs and other trippy stuff.

They are going for about $1900 used.

Here's a link to a bunch of reverb plugins. I have not tried any yet but I think there's some pretty decent ones.

Why use outboard stuff? It will only degrade the audio quality. If you have a cool spring, plate reverb there might be a point although that might not sound very good on orchestra music. There are of course alot of really expensive reverbs by lexicon and others but that isnt anything for regular humans. Altiverb sounds great, TL-space, Waves IR are great to.

Although ive some times put some extra reverb on some of my downmixes i think the tails in gold gives the best ambience. The problem for me is rather that when i add other elements like synths and percussion from other VSTis its hard to get a good ambience that fits with the orchestra. It would be great to have that impulse response.

Not if you are using good converters.

Besides, my Eventide goes in/out digitally.

This is my bread'n'butter reverb, no doubt about it.

Tried that. It was nice, but the parameter settings were a bit off to me.

And for what it was, it ate up more CPU than Voxengo.
It was okay, but I found Pristine Space to sound better with the same convo.

It didn't have an edge.

I know that some don't like the Voxengo interfaces, so that might curve some.

But for 119 bucks verse 199 bucks, you get 8 channels with Voxengo.
SO you could have 4 convo's in 1 plugin and the processing power is alot less.

There is a demo of Pristine Space. Try it.

My goodness, you guys- why are you bothering to use reverb on your EWSO mixes? They sound naturally great without it-Ive written some excellent music and have NEVER used reverb on my orchestrations-EVER. Now I am working only with the Vsts here, and not with live instruments-I dont know what your set-ups but always remember when you look for ways to screw something up, it works-big time (EQ and reverb unnecessary on most Vsts!)

Cheerio,

I find the (F) instruments a bit too wet. If i want a leading string sound (or any leading instrument for that matter) il use (C) and use my own reverb, else i will use (S) if i want something to add texture or sit in the background. But personally (F) gives me too much tail altogether. The release control sounds too artificial for me.

yes i agree...in the end the mic placements are the way to go. that is why they are there. far more natural sounding.

I agree, but i dont have platinum. I think gold pro is good enough for a small fry like me. I wonder when something better will hit the market in terms of orchestra samples and easy use. The biggest downside for me is the way the kompakt vsti loads instruments, the drop down meny isnt very fast to use when you want to browse thru articulations. I wonder if play will let me work faster, but i guess it will. Great looking interface.
