Hello everyone! I have recently bought Cubase Studio 4, but have had a number of problems with it. Firstly, for some strange reason the hotfix wont install even though Ive installed the previous update (4.0.2) And rather strangely the hotfix does not contain an exe. file in the Zip.....Im assuming this is the prob. Also, after jamming on the piano with some cool jazz I had other problems-pitch randomly altered up and down while recording in real-time? (Never come across that before) And also the dreaded "A serious problem has occured" error message. (And a mere single instrument playing-strange...)

As a newbie to the next generation of sequencers, I was somewhat thrown off by the fact you must keep the dongle in your USB drive to use the software! That'll take some adjustment....

Are there any Cubase studio 4 users who may be able to solve these problems?

Kindest Regards,
The Silver Nanto Warrior

I'm a happy user of Cubase 4 Studio, besides the problem, that I can't insert silence at the beginning of my project, I've had no problems actually.

The file in hotfix is executable and you don't need an exe. It should run fine.

Strange problems you are experiencing with steinberg software, nanto warrior. Maybe it's a curse or something :D?

A couple of issues I was having, first I had the issue with all of the notes recording at the beginning of the trac, which wkas resolved by using the Windows time fix, second I had to shut of mulit processor for Melodyne to work.... 3rd and probably the most annoying currently is all of the pops and crackles I am getting in Spectrasonics Atmosphere~

It's a great DAW overall, 4.1 is coming soon, so that may resolve your issue... Have you tried reinstalling and trying at each level, meaning, see if the issues exists before you patch to 4.02 or 4.03.... Sometimes patches break things.... MS knows a thing or wo about this!

PLAY works great in CS4~~~~

Oh and check out cubase.net if you haven't already.... Make sure you search first, as they don't like to repeat themselves there... We are a bit more forgiving here. :)
