Hyperthreading - On or Off?

This topic has probably been covered many times (so I apologise for this in advance)

After doing I search I found that it is recommended to turn it off, but when I disable it in bios, windows wont start.

Is there a way to disable it in windows itself?

As far as I am aware the only way to turn off hyperthreading in XP is to do it in the BIOS. Sorry mate.

Thanks for your reply - I ended up disabling in Bios then fresh install of windows

You can do it by windows, turning the computer driver on Standard PC - not ACPI.
I use HT without problems, so maybe it is not neceserry to turn it off.

I use HT without problems on both my giga 3 machine and my EW machine.
