Subscribe to every Mac magazine there is. Macword and mac Addict (think they underwent a name change recently) get involved on Mac forums and pay very close attention to www.barefeats.com

No tweaks needed. Works straight out of the box (well, once you've installed your audio software).

very true but IF you want to crack it open you can. Ive overclocked every Mac I've owned to stellar results and have performed lots tweaks. And many of these tricks and tips can be found on forums and magazines and websites ive referenced above. Disclamer: many of these types of things WILL void the warranty and the perpetrator should KNOW what hes doing and have the proper tools to do it.
