Gypsy-violin and fast passages

Does anybody know how to make good sounding, fast and connected passages with the Gypsy-violin? In the SO-violin you have some up/down articulations that can be used for that purpose, but it doesn't seem to be quite the case with Gypsy (Long legato-lines sounds great, by the way).
