How do you handle a situation when you are directed to take a path you don't think will work for the picture, whether that be via a temp score or another means?

If you think the direction is wrong and have talked to the director about it, all you can do is try to show him what you think is the right way to go. that can be dangerous and you should be prepared to go in his direction and make it work, somehow. Ultimately the director is in charge
