Ok, I'm stuck. I started this piece about two weeks ago. It all came to me so fast, I put the whole thing together in about two hours. And then all of the sudden my mind went blank. I set the piece aside for a while and worked on other project and then tried coming back to this one with no success. I need some inspiration or at least an ending. Any ideas?

hey Phillip --
it's a good start man... some nice ideas in there! I enjoyed the listen, although it definitely needs realism and expression work. anyway, I don't know if asking for inspiration or an ending here will be all that helpful... you're the composer, after all... you need to be able to get out of holes like this on your own. besides, when this completed and it has this awesome ending, don't you want to be able to credit yourself?

Hi Ted,
Thanks for the feedback. I think what I'm going to have to do is let it go for a while. I have several other projects that I'm working on at the moment. I had this problem once before and I just left it alone for a while, and when I came back and had a fresh listen it came to me.

Hmm... you may want to be careful, and re work this , because right now the first part sounds EXACTLY like Pirates of the Caribbean... just missing a few notes here and there. I think it even hits all the key notes.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttQjm-8OITE listen to about 0:46-0:59. It sounds very similar to what you have. Even the rhythmic strings you have sound a lot like the first few seconds of the clip. (though, this is less of a problem the the melody IMO) Maybe this is what you wanted, but unless you want your piece to sound like a Pirates knock off, i suggest changing that first part a bit. I've had to do this with my own stuff from time to time, and I know what a pain in the butt it is, but in the end it's usually worth it. Other than that, it sounded like a good start to something. Nice job.

Well, Pirates of the Caribbean is not exactly what I had in mind, but your right. Ever since I posted it I've had other people say that it sounded like Pirates. I hope not so much so. But if it is, I my have to do some changing.
Thanks for the feed back Michael.
