Default Composer Hans Zimmer...again...

After Batman Trilogy, Superman (man of steel) is coming on the next summer. And again Hans Zimmer is the composer (I know James Newton Howard was also composer at Batman Begins & Dark Kinght).

Will there be alternative composers (current composers or new ones) for these kind on movies in the near future? What do you think?

Please do not misunderstand me, I like Hans Zimmer and his music but this situation have just attracted my attention.

Just look at the amazing spiderman. That was James Horner. Or Thor. That was Patrick Doyle. As long as there are more than one superhero movie coming out at the same time, there will be multiple composers.

I believe Alexandre Desplat is capable for this kinda film too. Check his Harry Potter VII Part I and II.

I'm convinced Desplat is capable of anything at this point. His scores for the final two HP films were absolutely amazing! I have a friend at the London Symphony, and she said when a score comes to them with Desplat's name attached, everyone in the orchestra gets SUPER excited. And I think those were her exact words.

And Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Gorgeous score. That cue that's just a string drone and three unison high French horns is chilling.

Thanks for pointing that out. Listening to the score right now and it sounds amazing so far.
Cheers.

I really liked Ramin Djawadi's music for Iron Man and was severly disappointed with successor John Debney for Iron Man 2. Alan Silvestri's Captain America: The First Avenger soundtrack was a great classic 'movie magic era' superhero score. And though I did like his Avengers score, I expected a lot more.

YES! That's another great one! I just feel overwhelmed by what he does. Normally when I hear something great I think, "Man, I wish I had come up with this." With Desplat's scores... I just can't wish quite that hard maybe. I remember listening to the Harry Potter 7.2 score and thinking that I was hearing SO many new things. He's won me over. And that's putting it very mildly.

I thought he did the best score of last year with The Ides Of March - so effective, subtle, interesting, really impressive...

Does Hans Zimmer use VST instruments for percussions in Batman? What do you think?
