Default Question about project sample rate

My Axe-FX II guitar soundcard is locked at a sample rate of 48kHz. Does this mean I'd be unable to use sound libararies recorded at 44.1kHz in the same project?

As in you won't have a problem running any sample libraries. Don't fret!

Great. Thanks.

So, what should my project's sample rate be?

Ah, the $64,000 question. If you have a lot of time on your hand just do a search of the forums for sample rates (or type in your favorite rate) and be prepared to spend a substantial amount of time reading the pros/cons and arguments......

If still not satisfied, try "16 bit vs. 24 bit". All hell will break loose.

OK, let me rephrase the question. Do you guys match your project sample rate to your libraries?

I don't. I usually just set my sequencer to the bitrate and samplerate I want for my finished, mixed and mastered project--usually 24b and 48kHz (which I believe is the industry standard for film scores). It makes it easier to keep things consistent throughout my projects.

As far as I'm concerned it's rather 16/48. All depend where it goes.
