Default Thoughts of a Soldier

I have been converting my older stuff done with the Miroslav library, and my Akai Z8. Is that ancient history or not? I redone it with all the Gold XP. Still learning alot.. It seemed so much easier with the hardware..I really had some excellent comments in the past.. And look forward to many more from the composers on this forum..Thank again in advance..Joseph.

Hi Joseph,

Another great piece of yours. This one works nice as cinematic but there is more than that.

As in "After Thoughts" you have the ability to create a deep texture wiith only tree main lines: The bass, the upper strings and then the woods or the trumpet.

The harmonic rythm is almost constant but with a lot of variation in chord movement, maybe for the syncopas and passing notes, giving a slow and progressive progression. Long and sustained chords with anticipated and delayed bass, very nice...

But the most impresive of this piece is the melodic sense that shows over the harmony with the reeds and the trumpet. The melody is interpreted with constant variations sometimes very close to the harmony and sometimes trying to escape.

All this elements make another original great piece of your own style,

Congratulations my fiend

Luis

I must join the chorus here and say that I really like what you've made here. You must have paid great attention to the flow of the piece and it shows. It works as a whole, and very well. This is one of the few pieces I prefer not to analyze but just listen to.
