Default SSD for a Mac Pro Tower?

I'm getting a new Mac Pro soon. I use Logic 9.1. Going for an 8-core 2.66GHz Intel Xeon 'Nehalem' with 16GB of ram. I am also looking toward getting Hollywood Strings this year. Well when I looked at the system requirements listed here for HS it is suggested that we use SSD.

I have seen alot of chat here about going SSD which has made me lean even more toward getting it. The majority of what I've seen is about laptops so I still feel unsure if that would work. I'm getting a tower for sure so was wondering if anyone would have an opinion on that.

The other option I am considering is the 10k rpm Velociraptor. The SSD I've found compatable would be less space at 3x the price of the Velociraptor. Would it be strong enough to use many layered tracks, totalling 25+ samples, in Logic on Velociraptors? I want to get 3 extra drives that don't come with the Mac and put the OS on one. I Have over 500Gb of space needed for my sound banks (including HS). This would almost fill up 3 SSD drives which makes me second guess the performance they could give.

I'm also planning on doing RAID 0 to get better performance.

Think I should also go for the SSD? Or maybe Velocirator will work fine for that many instruments?

Thanks for any opinions.

If i were you I would get the SSD, even if it meant settling for 128GB, or even 64GB. The issue with HS is just the heavier legato patches mainly. Also, its a seek time issue I think, and that's why SSD makes such a difference. 10K RPM is a traditional hard drive, so just like 7200 RPM its gonna have seek time issues. I think its something like 8ms seek time for 7200. For SSD, its almost instantaneous at less than 1 or 2 ms.
