Hello,
i wanted to ask, since the spaces manual hasn't got plenty information, how to set up it with HS and HB ? 1.) For SO Cal Hall: There are Instrument specific Reverbs (Cb+Bs and Vla+Vln) but in "stereo" and one string reverb, but in true stereo. What's the benefit of having the stringsection specific reverb, if the true stereo handles it also ? Same for the brass. Should't one true stereo for close, mid, far, choir cover it all up ? 2.) shouldn't the predelay of the hall been sampled in the IR ? what's the reason to add predelay with spaces to the predelay in the samples ? Or is the predelay in the samples cut out ? 3.) i usually route every strings into a bus named "strings" and have spaces as insert for them all, for brass etc. too. You do it the same way ? I remember doug posted somewhere how he uses it, but i can't find it anymore. Generally i would be interested how you use spaces and why you use it this way. Thanks ! |

hey martin,
my PC isn't that powerfull. My system (i5, 6 gig RAM) starts to slow down when I'm loading more than 6 instances of Spaces. That's why I route my orchestral template to a bus called "Reverb" which contains: TS FR Stage reverb, TS FR Hall and TS RR Hall. I adjusted it so everything sounds uniform. Works pretty fine for me. Here are some useful posts from Nick: http://www.soundsonline-forums.com/s...ad.php?t=35662 http://www.soundsonline-forums.com/s...=37070&page=13 Hope that helped, if that's not the case: try to use your ears, there is no right or wrong, Experiment. Cheers

Hey,
thank you very much. It's not i'm not familiar with reverbs, acoustics and "trust your ears". But for example, Nick writes he is using the True Stereo IRs, because they handle it properle (of course), so my question is... for what reason there are instrument specific IRs if the true stereo handles all correctly anyway ?!?!? And is he using the Hamburg IR over the whole orchestra as final verb or only for the brass and the acme for the whole orchestra ? I'm simply interested in how others do

I personally love putting one of the soundstage impulses over the entire project-really light but adds so much life to it.
