Default Multiple monitors (screens)

Hey Everyone,

As I am working on my compositions on my 2 screen system it's great to work on it using 2 screens. However, when I score to images, the video mostly gets somewhere to the side of one of the 2 screens, blocking view of other important things. So, I am really looking for a 3 monitor system, where I think I'd like to have a 3rd monitor on top or above the other 2. Anyone experience with this? What kind of stands are availlable to do this? And any type of monitor you'd advice for sound editing? I'd really like one with a small rim, so the screen continues seemingly in the other. And is it easy to install these 3 monitors? I now have 2 video cards in my pc, but do I now need some kind of software to get them run seperately?
I hope to hear from your experiences.
Best regards,

Hugo

Most composers will have a tv mounted on the wall behind and above the 2 screens. Works great. I don't know about PC, but on a Mac you don't need any other software.

Eventually you'll want 4, 5, or even 6 screens in there! One for plugins, one for your slave, one for your pro tools computer you print stems to, etc.

I know it's just funny to see how even 3 screens can't be enough :P. Good idea about the tv, though. Any ideas for a good one you like or should I just get something that fits the budget :P

This is what I've been considering lately. And I don't intend on using 3 monitors, but rather 2 x 24" and the middle spot reserved for a single Avantone non-ported powered mixcube for mono monitoring (special adapter will have to be built). And as mentioned above by "pkm" a wall mounted flat screen above the monitors should make for an ideal set up.

Good luck with your search and let us know what you decide.

He Wolf, thanks for the link, that stuff was exactly what I was looking for. It is kind of more expensive than I thought, though! The idea of a wall mounted tv now seems the best option, until I can afford to upgrade to 3 monitors + tv screen (in case I will be needing one more, but I guess I will, hehe).
Still hoping to hear from you for good tips for a good tv screen, or good monitors .

Best regards
