Wonderful. My favorite part is the rising bit following 1:38, and its flourish. Integration with real instruments is well done. I'd wish the film maker had taken a few more seconds at the end though.

Really happy to hear that. I decited to go mainly for close/stage mics and not too much reverb as I was aiming for a rather clean sound.

Definitely, I often had to make some really fast transitions in general. The pacing was really quick.

The dilema I'm facing about this is that I've already gotten comments like these on tracks I've released before the film came out (Example: EWQLSO Demo "Morning Adventure"). Though I admit freely that the last part was heavily inspired by the track Romantic Flight, which was how I found the violinist. Now I'm not sure if I should keep the style I'm working with or change my concept completely.

Consider that the music in most Dreamworks films is heavily inspired by Irish folk balads and folksongs. Especially listen to "Longford Legend" and you'll know where the Dreamworks Animation Logo theme came from which was also present in Shrek.

I know what you're saying and I agree too but it was the metalic percussive sounds and style,voicing etc(similar to the scene when Toothless is drawing in HTTYD),..also theres a dragon in your film drawing so its hard not to make a comparison.It just all feels a little too similar.
I dont think you have much to worry about Denny its obvious that you are a natural with great instincts and you'll find that voice soon enough. D

Ah yes, I see what you mean there. It was overall very difficult as the film had a very celtic temp track at first. I was hoping that choosing a violin as a lead and a rather bouncy orchestral track was enough to make a difference. Thanks for the pointers again!

By the way, a little off topic but I loved the music in the Prometheus trailer! Really cool track!
