madstarr12 is on a distinguished road
Default Hello

Yeah....um....hi everyone! My name is madstarr12 (well not really, but my forum name is!) It's great to be here. I've actually been a user of East West / Quantum Leap products for quite a while now, and just recently thought about registering to these forums. (I really don't know what held me back to be honest.)

Let's see, the products from EW/QL that I own are:

Symphonic Orchestra (Platinum Edition)
Symphonic Choirs
Hollywood Strings (Gold Edition)
Hollywood Brass (Gold Edition)
Solo Violin

And I also own some Kontakt libraries.

I've been using all libraries directly from either my desktop or laptop hard drive combined with my external HDD (usb 3.0, 7200rpm). I haven't seen many problems with the libraries (both my desktop and laptop run these libraries pretty well) until I purchased Hollywood Strings. That forced me to also buy a Solid State Drive (HS really has quite an appetite for resources.) It's an External SSD (usb 3.0) and I run only HS through there and works very well. (I didn't expect much from an external SSD, it surprised me)

Composing and remixing are both pretty much hobbies for me, not really looking into a career in music; however I've always found it to be quite the interesting subject. Still learning and improving slowly, but I'm getting there (not sure where "there" is, but I hope it's worth reaching it, haha).

I tend to look towards video game music when using these libraries, especially the music that is not performed live. All sorts of great video game music out there just waiting to be remastered or remixed in a personal fashion.

Staying in the topic of music, I play Violin and Viola. Been playing them for quite a while and I haven't really done much with these instruments. (will join the college orchestra in the fall though).

Currently, I'm in college pursuing a career in Meteorology. I've always loved the weather and have always been fascinated by it. Don't expect me do be on-camera though (very unlikely to happen).

I think I'm just rambling on and on. I'll stop there for now.
