Is there a "midi note expression for dummies" around? I'm using cubase 6.5 and EWQL Platinum Plus, trying to initiate note expression on a violin piece (let's say). Three notes in the middle of the piece I want played pizzicato, the rest is legato. I load the 11v master keyswitch patch. In the expression map for the violin track I assign two notes, let's say C0 and D0, to the legato and pizzicato samples. I record my piece, and manually input a C0 at the beginning and just before the note after the pizzicato stretch, and a D0 just before the pizzicato. I'm getting no pizzicato. What am I missing?

Hi!
I'm not sure if I've understood properly, but it seems as though you are trying to arbitrarily assign keychange notes (in your example you seem to suggest that D0 will be pizzicato). But in fact you should use the keyswitch that is listed for the sound you want in the player window under "Type". I only have the Gold version, and my 11v master keyswitch doesn't have pizzicato, but the 18v does, and the pizz sounds are keyswitch D1. Your platinum plus version will work in the same way: just find the keyswitch you need from the list and enter that in your expression map. |
