Robert, What are your options for connecting said SSD? I agree that laptop drives, even at 7200 rpm can be a pain and not work well. I see you are running your OS off of an SSD, what about trying switching the two (for now, put the OS on the HDD, or even just put the samples on the SSD to try it out while leaving the OS on it)? Are you running the DAW off of the SSD as well or off of the HDD?

This isnt an SSD issue its a play/QL Pianos issue.
I can play HS strings with zero isuses even 5 tracks at a time. However one mic of QL Pianos and I'll get clicks. I tried everything I could to remove the clicks and after a few weeks what I found to work the best and remove "most" of the clicks is. Hoping they fix it on the next update as with the memory too low error. P.S The steinway samples seem to click the worse, the Yamaha being the best.

This is a sample of the pops/clicks I was getting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11XJfQnENCI This next one is 20 different instruments all loaded in sonar using Play, a good bit of them being Hollywood strings. I pulled the data of all 20 tracks at one time with ZERO pops. So 1 QL Piano track = pops/clicks and its blamed on hardware. Must be lack of SSD..... 20 tracks (zero QL Pianos) without pops = works fine, even with the samples all being pulled from 7200RPM hard drives.

The "lack of SSD" excuse sounds like the worst case of "scapegoat" excuse ever. It's like a bad joke.

I am bumping this because I just purchased Pianos with the same issue.
I also noticed it a lot worse with the steinway in SO Gold and I was hoping it wouldn't appear when I bought EWQL pianos. Is East West aware of this situation? As already mentioned from others, I am going off a moderate hard drive that shouldn't have this problem. And it's ridiculous to think that we have to lower the buffer size to something like 64 for bouncedown (and then increase the size for the rest of the mix). I'm hoping East West isn't ignoring this simply because it's coming from an older sample library. |

hey Epwpower!
I think the best thing you can do is post in the other thread, since (finally) we got 2 EW employees on there. It's not a solution, but maybe it's a start. You can read it here: http://www.soundsonline-forums.com/s...ad.php?t=41041
