Question PCIE vs SATA: Which is better for storing samples?

Hey!
I am trying to decide which type of hard drive I need to store my samples. The plan is to start with at least 1 TB of SSD memory in an internal drive, housed in a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure. Is PCIE worth the extra money, or would a SATA connection be fast enough?
