It has a nice method to it; the song in itself has lost of cool parts, sounds nice, and has some idiosyncratic instrumentation, which I like.
However, the mixing isn't very well done. Often times it seems really cluttered and it sounds like all the instruments are coming from the same place. Some parts had me thinking I was being attacked by a pack of instruments! Try making the background percussion a bit more "ambient" and out of the way. This will add A LOT of realism to the track, and it will help tame the overall mix. The song also in my opinion needs to be a bit wetter. This especially become apparent in the intro part when there are some exposed parts. Try adding a bit more space to the reverb. Also, the strings come off as synthy to me when they play fast passages. SO's strings are tricky to work with, but enough proper tweaking can get them to sound just dandy. Then ending bit sounds beautiful and is rather well done. I enjoy your posts here in the Cafe, keep 'em coming! |

I liked it. Very creative and fun track. The syle of your song reminds me of the original music in the animated movie Ratatouille from 2007.
About the mixing I agree with Geocranium on several points. Great job with your composition however, keep it up. Best regards Josef Snabb

Hey Geo, thanks for commenting. You made several comments about space and reverb issues, and that's something I'm having a hard time mixing because Symphonic Gold Orchestra is already recorded panned and recorded wet. Some of my recordings I add some more pan, others I add very little. Still learning.
Thanks though for feedback! |
