What is a 16-track Mix for a background score?

(Practically) every song you hear in a film is delivered in stereo. The mixer can always throw some reverb into the surrounds if he wants.

You're still back at square one. Where does he get 16 tracks for a 5.1 mix? That's something you need to coordinate with the sound editor and director, it's all part of the post-production process. I sure hope he's paying you for the HIGH budget music production LOL!

Now that stupid person clears , 16-track is just a term He uses out of lack of knowledge (of course it was a wrong term) just to try having a Hi-Fi conversation ! Lol.
