I'm curious about your virtual memory settings. I left the page file setting turned off. Are you saying you are having better results with virtual memory turned on?

WOW. I am impressed on SO MANY LEVELS! With EastWest going 64bit, I was pretty nervous about the future, but this helps ease the fear a little.

Thanks, Professor,

Rob

No, I just forgot to turn off paging after the OS install. Obviously, it creates problems and with 8GB on x64 I really don't see the reason for virtual memory.

But I haven't yet tried filling multiple instances without paging, so can't say yet.

Just a kid in a bedroom, my friend.

Wow! That was seriously heavy! And it was great.

I take my hat off to you.

I am considering upgrading to 64 bit and this series of posts will help a lot. One read is not enough. Without doubt I will have to read it again to take it all in.

Much appreciated.

Yes, what an excellent review for those entering the 64 bit realm. I will certainly try out some of your conclusions. I really appreciate the effort and time you put into this.

Cool

Hey Vatroslav,

I just needed to drop in and tip my hat .. ;-)

I do need to read thru more thoroughly when I get some time, I just had a quick skim for now, but from what I have already read, the information is extremely detailed and of great assistance to those wanting to navigate to a x64 DAW environment ..

Awesome stuff Mate.., huge effort, and incredibly generous for you to share.. :-)

Peace
