Another programming gap, I think. When I load Full Chorus Church into Kontakt2, the release layers are way off in volume. When you end a note, the volume rises as if you have tried to play another note.
On the other hand, they are easy to reprogram. I don't know if my ear is up to the task though. It would better if they were programmed at the factory. Every which way that I try to use Choirs has baffled me. I'll be patient because I know it will be useful when the programming is finished. |

The programming works fine in Kontakt 1.5 and Kompakt. I don't know what Kontakt 2 is doing, but you should report that to NI. EWQLSC was not programmed in Kontakt 2. The programming is pretty solid in EWQLSC. Wordbuilder is still being perfected.

This is how I would control the level of the release samples.
Select the release group in "Source" you should see a value "t(ms):" which is the Release Trigger Counter. In theory this should pobably be set to something e.g. 5000. Go to "Amplifier" and "Add modulator", select "External Sources" then "rls. trig. counter" by default this should modulate the volume. I'll have a look when I get home and can get my hands on the library. Paul. N.B. "rls. trig. counter" in K2 is the same as "note-on counter" in K1.5 EDIT: I have just made a very simple instrument with release samples in K1.5 and loaded it into K2. It loaded without any problems.

I checked through the patches in K1.5 and K2 all of the values are identical so it must be in the different ways the k1.5 and K2 handles the Release Trigger Counter. I tend to thing that the bug is in K1.5 and we have worked around it, and that K2 is showing up the work around.

The release volumes vary from note to note so its clearly a EW programming issue and volumes can be adjusted.....if you want to spend your time re-programming the lib. NI can't adjust the volumes for us can they? I do hope these get re-programmed at the factory as they are otherwise lovely sounds. |

I also have kompakt 2. Even thought they promise compatibility i think there are a few issues with it. It would be nice though to get acknowledgement of those issues by you guys. I have Artvista Virtual Grand and it doesnt sound the same in K2 as it does in its own Kontakt player (apparently K2 adds an LFO or EQ or somethign that shouldn't be there). Apparently, although i haven't tried this yet, GPO has an issue in K2 as well.
So it wouldn't surprise me that that SC might have a few issues but i haven't tried that in K2 yet myself. steve |
