Right now I have my EW products on hard drives hooked up to my PC via eSATA. I found it it MUCH faster than USB 2.0 for use of virtual instruments. However, at this point, my Mac Pro does not have eSATA capabilities. Will firewire be a good substitute for the time being or is USB closer to that level? Thanks.

yyour mac pro has 2 esata ports inside near the MOBO but if you didn't want to use them then use the FW800 ports. DO NOT chain a FW 400 drive to an 800 drive or the 800 drive will be running at 400speed.
