I was wondering if there was any way that I could optimize Play for lower memory usage. I am currently topped out at 2 gigs of RAM on OS X 10.4.11, but I *do* have fast hard drives in a RAID array. With NI I was able to set a limit on how many samples were loaded in memory to ensure that I could have enough free memory to swap in and out. It seems that with Play it just hogs all my memory, and everything pretty much screeches to a halt.

Get 2 more gigs of ram its cheap for how much frustration it relieves.

Just to relieve a burning question that I'd probably missed out before... The higher the PLAY engine, the more RAM it utilizes but the lesser the streaming load on your HDDs right?
