Hi,
It would be very helpful to know when 64-bit support for (PLAY) as a stand-alone, on the Mac OSX will be made available. I find this a very critical detail, since I'm still trying to decide on going with a Mac or PC farm for EWQLSO PLAY. Any projected release date for 64-bit Mac support ? Thank You. |

It could just be the crack I've been smoking, but I'm almost positive that PLAY already has 64-bit support for MAC. Can someone else verify this?

I am running play on MAC 64-bit G5 PPC but not too effectively.

OK.... Now that the smoke is out of the way, is there any official word/projection, as to when we can expect a 64-bit (PLAY) for the Mac OSX ?
Please note that I'm not referring to running (PLAY) within a host DAW such as LP8 as a Plug-in instrument, where it can access the additional RAM via the OS, but rather a true-64-bit "stand-alone" application, allowing Mac OSX users to access all RAM installed. Any projections for a release date ? another couple months, end of this year, next year, when.. ? Well, the sooner, the better, hopefully it won't be too long of a wait. Sadly, Mac OSX 64-bit application support in general, has been moving at a snail's pace, and I'm referring across the board, i.e. LP8, Cubase 4/Nuendo 4/ Kontakt 3/ VSL's VE3/ ...etc. which has not been very helpful for Mac users. |

Yes, I agree, Apple has switched gears on many developers, when they decided to switch to Cocoa instead of Carbon for development. Apple seems to be very good at complicating things for many developers, but, I think the announcement for switching to Cocoa has been announced quite a while back, developers have known this for quite some time now, so it must be just a matter of time (how much more time is needed, is the key question). That's basically what I'm trying to find out.
