Default question about 2 GOLD patches

Hi,
I love Gold and can't wait to get my XP next month. There are however, two patches that just make my biscuits burn every time out: the cellos quick U/D patch, and the vibes patch.

1. Cellos Quick UD: this patch doesn't feature a performance quick enough for faster tempos. Will gold Pro have a truly "quick" UD patch? (ironically, silver's quick UD celli patch was quicker, tighter)

2. Vibes: why is this patch only sustained? Is there not a vibes patch withought the sustain? It really limits how you can use this instrument as any more than 3 consecutive notes become muddled in a wash of sustain and ambience.

what's the deal peeps?!

is anyone else experiencing this with these patches, or do i just have an odd lot? I have polyphony issues with the harp roll patch and no one seems to have the same.

to sum:

1. Celli UD patch not realy quick, is the XP upgrade going to fix?

2. Vibes patch only sustained.

anyone?

let me try this another way my brothers:

IS there a non sustained vibes patch? Am I missing this? Would someone be doll-face and check for 'ol Shnurg?

The vibes patch has sustain. Try playing with the envelope - reduce decay - sustain and release a little - and hey presto!

awp, thanks for the feedback. Unfortunatly that's really only a quick fix in the technical sense. The sound of vibes with the damper up (muted) is totally different than the sustain.,..beyond just playing env settings.

Vibes are usually not played sustained, so out of the two choices I'm not sure why they chose the sus patch. With this sus patch in GOLD you can olny use vibes in your compositions to hit a sustained chord...no fast runs, not jazz solos....what a waste.

Yes XP fixes these problems. The cellos now have TONS of short note options. The marcatos and spiccatos are really sick!!

If the vibes thing is not updated, I would recommend you check out the ArtVista vibes. I don't have them myself, but I love the Grand Piano for realism and its subtle gnarliness.
