Default CC1, CC11, CC7

Something I was curious about - in most non-dxf patches in the EastWest libraries - CC1 (mod wheel) seems to do...something - almost like a reverse volume control (where 0 is full volume and 127 is silence) - can anyone tell me what exactly it's doing? It is acting similarly to CC11 or CC7?

If you mean the PLAY libraries, then mod wheel does different things for different instruments.

For example, in SD2 and most of MOR, mod wheel controls the low-pass filter function (the effect you are probably talking about). For Gibson acoustic guitar in MOR, it controls the speed of strumming, while in phrases of VOP - starting point for samples. Some patches in VOP have DXF instead.

Most probably, it's the low-pass filter you are referring to.
