I've got the NI version of the SO library and I'm mulling getting the play version. So, for those of you that have, you think it's worth the money for the upgrade and the iLok? If so, what do you think makes it worthwhile?
The deals they have going on are tempting, but I just haven't convinced myself it is worth it. |

It's worth it for me. For one thing, the sound quality is very noticeably better along with PLAY's convolution reverb.

The included scripts is a cool feature, that properly used, could give you very nice results. These are not available in the NI version. Also, the three mic mixing is now much easier than with Kompakt. Also, rearranging keyswitches might for some be a very important thing.
The fact, it's already working in 64bit environment, and able to adress more than 4GB should be mentioned as well. I think, for the price, you should at least try it. - Piotr |
