Default Goilath vs. Colossus

After all what I might have said, I'm thinking now about this upgrade. So honestly: what is left if we take apart Colossus, all the other Kontakt sound libraries including Boesendorfer. (All of them already here) ?

When the price is not too much for this upgrade, what do you think about it guys ? What sort / type (synth and what + ?) are the remaining ones ? Must be something around 5-6 GBs ? Are there included also parts from the other newer Play libraries ?

I remember, Doug told, it's a combination from the existing ones, but sure there must be something else. And sorry, though I know this was once or twice well crawled through, but I need to get convinced before the special offer time going off.

On the bottom of Goliath's page, there's a list of new instruments:

These mostly come from PLAY libraries. There is also some content, unavailable in any other library (the morphing drones, atmospheres and synths).

Goliath. I wouldn't have it any other way. Just get it. You won't be disappointed...

Thanks mates

I forgot to tell that I also have MOR, SD2, Pianos and Gypsy. How does their contents relate to the Goliath new parts besides ?

Pietro wrote: These mostly come from PLAY libraries. There is also some content, unavailable in any other library (the morphing drones, atmospheres and synths).
Thanx Pietro once again.

I know this might sound silly, but do you guys think, the apart from any other library existing, the rest would be worth the upgrade money 99 $ / 79 € plus transportation fees (16-19€) ? ...and how much of the synths are from Colossus ?

Plus: I know you love it, it's good to hear. What other libraries do you have to compare ?

Fongi: Dear fellow, that's what I'm trying to figure out. I find it too hard (and making it to sound really inconvenient) just because the information is not very simply told by EWQL. An example: Goliath includes a new Italian accordeon. That's most likely one of Gypsy's like Silvestri; but how can one know ??? This is what I meant before, by saying about misleading people, on another thread. Even thinking about this kind of marketing pisses me off.

Think of Goliath as the Swiss army knife for the composer who doesn't have a whole lot. (isn't that how East West describes it anyways?)

If you have a lot of other PLAY libraries already I wouldn't bother buying it.

Just my 2 copper pennies worth.

One thing that Goliath does do is move you forward from using the Kontakt player for Colossus into Play for Goliath, which in my opinion, is worth considering. Also if you are using any of the CCC software in Kontakt, such as the Bosendorfer piano, you won't need the older Kontakt version as the piano is now in Goliath. Plus Play is newer technology, and I prefer the convenience of having the EW software that is currently available for Play IN Play. When Play editions of RA and Symphonic Choirs are released, they too will replace the older Kontakt versions on my system. In other words, I suggest there's more to consider that just how many sounds are different. That's not all you are buying when you purchase Play based software. HTH........playz

Thank you a lot everybody. You've really helped me make my final decision.

Playz: I'm already familiar with Play engine, you can see it in the above posts, But I see it too, these are not personal mails, so it's always good to talk on a common level simultaniously.

Allan: Thanks a lot man. You don't maybe know, but your words gave me the icing on the cake. It's sometimes so hard to make up one's mind between things. But now I'm relieved, and can concentrate on something else. I don't say, it would have been any big decision, but it has been bothering me for long now; and if nothing else, I can focus my eyes over to the next big releases from EWQL.

I hope, some other people have got help from this too.

Cheers buddies

Man. I think I don't want to see that mess. (Not at my home anyway.)
