Default Alone - A Romantic Piece

Well, this is my second try for a romantic piece, I hope you'll think this one is nice.
I'm not very at ease in this domain (that's why I did an aggressive metal while I was doing my romantic piece), so I had doubts about posting or not this one. Moreover, I tried to play with chord progressions and different themes. So I would really have some comments. Another thing, I tried to do a "good" mastering (good with my ears) but there may be mistakes

here it is :

Alone

Thanks for your help.

TchoyY

Yes, you make good point with volume.I prefer from 2.00 min, great strings, maybe more reverb on first and second violins?
Really from 2.00...
I think you can build a theme from 2.00.

That sounds very good, as always. I suggest you to introduce an extract of "Back to Casablanca" at the middle of the piece

Hey tchoyy,

You know why I don't like this one? Because it makes me feel embarased I just posted a piece, but after listening to this one I had to realize I shouldn't have. Beautiful work, a few glitches here and there, but nothing serious, andin some cases they add a second layer of emotion so they actualy sound intended. Very good job, it would have been a shame if you hadn't posted it.

Thanks CeXzer for the comment

Welll, actually I listened to my demos with high quality monitors and I realized that the sound wasn't well repartited in the environment (arrfff, I hope you understand what I mean because It difficult to me to explain this in english), I work only with my headphones and I'm looking forward to buy good monitors. So I did some sound processing with tube compressor/limitor/equalizer. Does it sound good ?

A good feel for a romantic piece.
In my opinion the sound is too flat, may be for the compression ? (I´d never use if for classical). And also the expression in the long notes could be more deep (I mean more range changes in the expression controller CC#1 or CC#11).
David, for being your second piece in romantic style is a beatifull composition. You are also good in expresing feelings.
Regards
Luis

tchoyy,

Couldn't say. Unfortunately I'm no pro, and I haven't any professional equipment, so I usualy just leave my ewqlso pieces as they are since I would only make them worse. On my equipment this piece of yours sounded really good tho, better than mine.

CeXzer, this is what I did before listening my demo on pro equipments, maybe I should try to learn some mastering techniques or anything like this. Did you hear Neil Factory"s Demo ? His sound seems everywhere in the space, If you listen to mine, it's like the sound is wedged and wants to be released but it cannot... I think Neil has got his cook with sound processing. Neil, what is your secret ? can you give me some tips, I'm sure and certain that your sound is not directly out from cubase

very nice tchovy , it's not like my piece your is very clean, you have understood something that I haven't understood, but why don't you use some reverb, the roomworks from cubase SX3 is very nice? It will sound less dry
