Apparently there is a shortage of VoP tracks on this website, so I thought i'd upload one i made a while ago for people to hear (actually about 1.5 years ago!)
Rallifnuck The name "rallifnuck" is just a selection of letters. I couldn't think of a name! Uses VoP BUlgarian singer, Stormdrum, SO and SC (all Kontakt versions). What do you think? Comments and criticisms all welcome. I should point out that the quality has been slightly reduced in loading up to this website. Dont know why.... Thanks Benedict |

minimalistic in a good way, don't like the beginning quite frankly, what annoys me most, is that the words don't make any sense but that is a problem/personal preference with the library not you
i would use the library in a different way but at the current price i don't think it's worth it i like the way it sounds although it's kinda hard to pay attention when you haven't slept in 35 hours if i don't forget it i will listen to it tomorrow again and give a more indepth review Last edited by shogun; 06-05-2009 at 04:57 PM. |

Hehe hi Benedict Nichols,
![]() In my case, I prefer the first minute over the second one. It has a dark and mysterious sound and the tonality is uncertain which I appreciate and I like the short electro percussion sound at 01:08. The distorted voice at 01:22 is interesting also. This song could have evolved in many directions and personally, your piece seems to evolve somewhere unsure. However, since you composed it about 18 months ago, you probably have progressed a lot so it’s no big deal. It’s good to hear more pieces made using VOP. Keep it up.

Cheers guys for the comments.
Shogun - what is it that you dont like exactly at the start? is it just that you cant distinguish any words? Hope you get some good sleep, what have you been doing up for 35 hours?! I appreciate that many people wont be using the library with such an exposed VOP line, but i did it to see if i could achieve nice legato lines with her, and I did.... ![]() Danieljay - cheers! Cant remember what patches they are, but they are SD. Shovyk - thanks for the comments. You're right, the development is not exactly stunning. In fact, as i was just really writing it to try out smooth VOP lines, i think i just replicated the first half, made some adjustments, and beefed it up with bigger accompaniment so that i felt i had written something complete! It could easily have gone elsewhere, but I must have not been in the mood to do that. It was a long time ago so i cant really remember now! Oh, at 1:08, there isn't any electro percussion. Its all acoustic percussion from SD, and at 1:22, that was using the stereo doubling effect and ADT. There wasnt any deliberate distortion effects applied. Cheers guys |

Hi Benedict,
Nice piece. I especially like the drums as well. I do agree with the group about how unsure it sounds near the last half of the piece. However, I thought the mix in the percussion was really good. What reverb patches are you using? Best, Matt |

i just meant the solo voice beginning, the moment the percussion/drums start i actually like it - everything sounds great and natural together i don't know what the syrian singer has to offer on VOP but i would use it myself for something like this women does though not as the main instrument on my songs. she is a kurdish singer (and a great one if i may add) and it would've been incredible if she was on the voices of passion instrument: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lotE-Pgsu_M some parts of her singing are not words either (le le etc.) - i meant i would try to do it like that but i don't have the library and it's probably impossible to do that realistically anyway but as i said i liked your song - and i would love to hear something new from you where you use VOP PS: i really don't understand it why they didn't go for real words, i would rather have real words not making sense in a context (like many do with symphonic choirs) instead of made up words but maybe that's just me Last edited by shogun; 06-06-2009 at 01:51 PM. |
