I run (2) recording systems.
Mac & PC The last time I plugged my PC USB2 external drive into the Mac, it erased and formatted everything without notice. I lost a great deal of video footage! If buyers have the more expensive option to purchase the hard drive version....how do they swap from one system to the other without this potential major problem occuring!? I've never heard of this happening on a Mac... it certainly shouldn't without being prompted. If you are on Leopard or Snow Leopard, you may want to disable 'Time Machine' as thats the only thing I can think of that might cause drive to format like that (unless done purposely in a disk utility).
WIth the hard drive delivery, you could also simply copy the content to another drive on each system as well, giving you a back up as well as not having to swap the drive each time. -Jonathan |

If the drive is formatted as MS-DOS (optional in Mac, standard on PC) it will work on both systems with no problems. The only downside to this is you can't transfer a file larger than 4GB, but other than that the formatting works on both OS's.
