Default I saw you again

Well: it's weird how, when I started out I was a bit intimidated by what the bones were going to play and what the strings do and stuff like that... not going to get a to the point harmony. I don't know jack about classical music really... but when i had 3 or 4 tracks ready, wow, it started to grow on me and well here's the result for my first try...

I Saw you again

Hope everything sounds like it's supposed to

The theme (setting) is about having a memory of a nice girl who you've had a short conversation with : very long ago , and then you suddenly see her 15 years later and after all the different stuff happening to you which made you have another view of life , convictions about people, situations, dissapointments, positive experiences she would still recognise you

well the "you" is me actually, those are my feelings for the small demo, but well.. "you" is meant as a general term

CD

Hi,

A very nice first demo that you have. I'm always impressed with really good sounding Silver demos because, well, it's just harder to get a good overall sound with fewer articulations to work with. In my opinion, Silver can be an amazing sounding package, especially for the price, but it takes some effort. You've done really well with this and you should be very happy with the results.

Thanks for the encouraging replies !!

You know, silver "is" really good, I'm convinced for what I do I don't realy need gold. Platinum is really well.. ,first way out of my price range, and secondly as I also produce electronic music and I would like to somehow merge the 2 also, the whole deal is just too much for me, but not for a real classical composer who demands all the mic placing and authenticity that comes with the chromatic sampling...

The thing is, with silver pro xp (i just orederd) there are going to be also solo instruments, I guess they are designed to do solo melodies more than the ones that are now in silver ?

When I made this piece with the sounds that I loaded while experimenting: i felt like making an addagio piece. So I also noticved this in the demos of the normal silver, that these are mainly "addagio" kind of pieces that you can really make sound well with silver, (the staccato seems to be good to make uplifting melodies: like in "ride of the witches" and "berlin") and with pro I expect to also be able to let the clarinet play a more lyrical lead melody,

but wow, this is only my first attempt, who knows what I can still do. I might just make a re arrangement of some of my earlier compositions when my xp pro arrives...

Hi CosmicD,

as first attempt it has turned out very good.
You use well Silver and I think that when you'll have Pro XP in your hands you'll do much better.
Despite to my classic music studies I have produced electronic music for many years (particularly ambient electronic) leaving orchestral compositions, but when my job agreement with an electronic music CD's production company ended in the year 2000, I went back to orchestral compositions. Sometimes I realize some electronic cue if requested, but I prefer to write for orchestra or for orchestra with some ambience electronic sounds.
I think that when you'll have Silver Pro, you'll taste the great pleasure to write and arrange for a big orchestra.

I wish you have wonderful and full of musical inspiration Christmas holidays with your new Silver Pro

hmm, I just realise now I might have been thrown into the competition for the december contest ? As this arrangement stands now this is not intended, it must be worked out more. (i actually thought you only apply for the contest when you put the song into the topic for that month)
