Default Citizen Kane re-score

Hey-

Well, this was an experiment, to see how minimalist I could get with a short clip. This is from the beginning of the movie Citizen Kane. Comments welcome

Not bad. The texture and sound create an atmosphere that fits the picture.
The performance needs work though. E.g. the cello (is it?) that kicks in at 1:51 sounds too loud and aggressive.
In general, I'd add a gentle touch of reverb.
I also felt that the tone of the music could use a change near the end, at the shift from establishing shots to the "action" (read: snow globe). The significance of Rosebud is something you might want to reflect in the music.
Overall, good job!

Thanks! Yes, the cello comes in a bit too abruptly there. There's a small amount of instruments, so reverb shouldn't freeze the program (it's been doing that a lot lately).

You certainly captured the vibe for the era and film style. A bit more dynamics as suggested by equalising the low-end of some the strings should help make it sound more acoustic. As for reverb, why not just add a good quality reverb to the bounced stems.

Thanks! I'll try the equalising.
