Default 64 bit FX bundles?

Hey Guys,

With the time to purchase my new studio fast approaching I've been thinking about FX plugins. I'll be running Cubase 5 on a Windows 7 64-bit system when I do get my new stuff. I know there have been some compatability issues running 32-bit plugins on 64-bit systems and, even though I've heard apps like j-bridge can help with those issues, if possible I'd rather just run compatible 64-bit stuff and have everything working 'out of the box', so to speak.

So my question is; what, if anything, is out there in the FX market at 64-bit/Windows 7 compatability? I don't think I'll need anything crazy; some good reverbs, perhaps a stereo widener etc. I used to use the Waves Gold bundle on a friend's system and found that plenty good for my needs, but I don't think Waves is at 64-bit yet.

Thanks!

I believe the IK Multimedia's T-Racks 3 Deluxe, though fewer plugs, is vastly superior to the Waves Gold bundle. I close friend who has the Waves Diamond TDM version now uses the T-Racks almost exclusively for eq/compression/limiting/stereo widening. You can get the Reverb (not convolution) separately. BUT much cheaper, since once you buy one thing, they give you an amazing price on everything else they sell. I got the nine plugs of T-Racks, and the GREAT reverb for $495 approx, from AudioMidi.com.

Now, you WILL have to use jBridge, but all these plugs work perfectly with it. I am Windows 7 x64 and Cubase 5.1 64bit.

If you limit yourself to only to the plugs that have completed the jump to 64bit, well, you have done just that: Limited yourself.

Free trial on both the IK Multimedia plugs and the jBridge (with is only about $17 anyway. Try it, you'll like it.

Thanks for this! I'll definitely check them out. I'm not that bothered about running jBridge as long as it's definitely not an issue; if people on similar systems are having no trouble then I'm happy doing it. Incidentally what (if any) EastWest stuff are you running? I think I might have heard that either Kontakt 4 or some of the PLAY software wasn't working well with jBridge being used, but I could be completely mistaken about that.

Yep, I got that recently. Just don't expect it to fix your sound in a dramatic way, as it's very subtle so doesn't colour the sound like cheaper plug-ins. The quality is on par with some DSP plug-ins I've used. Can't really testify to hardware though alas we are not talking about hardware. I think Waves is one of those things, everybody thinks they should have it as it's out of most peoples pockets.

T_racks 3 from IK is awesome!!! Just wanted to add my two cents on it and not that I'm a m fan of the Who but they actually used T-racks Deluxe on their backing vocals at the Super Bowl. I just thought it was cool they mentioned it
